Canvas Crew - Canvas & Chocolate: Creative paint experiences in Gippsland

Hello and welcome - I am so glad you are here. My name is Yolandi, and I am the heart and paintbrush behind Canvas Crew.

I am a Registered Nurse (& current Social Work student), a wife, a mum in a beautiful busy blended family, and a firm believer in the healing power of creativity, connection and taking the time to slow down.

Canvas Crew was born from my passion for creativity, and the firm believe that each of us carry creativity in within us - and that expressing it nurtures our soul.

My Story

After years working in healthcare and supporting and caring for people, I saw how stress, burnout and emotional overload and disconnection affect so many of us - parents, carers, professionals, and everyday people trying to keep it all together.

At the same time, I noticed something powerful: When we sit down to create - without pressure or judgement - our breathing slows, our bodies relax and the knots inside begin to unravel.

Creativity creates calm

Canvas Crew combines my passion for wellbeing, helping others, creative expression, and bringing community together. Canvas Crew aims to provide welcoming paint sessions where you don't have to be "good at art", it is about creating something, embracing the process, and rediscovering the joy it brings.

What Canvas Crew is All About

Canvas Crew offers creative paint sessions across Gippsland, designed to support wellbeing, connection and joy.

Our Sessions include:

  • Relax & Restore, Calm Creative Sessions

  • Fun Social paint nights

  • Private group bookings and team-building sessions

  • Paint parties for young and old at your home or chosen venue

We also host small, peaceful sessions at our rural property in Trafalgar, creating a space where you can truly unwind. Chocolate is included - because life is better with chocolate.

Something a Little Personal

When I am not nursing, hosting sessions or studying, you will likely find me drinking coffee, spending time with my family, enjoying Gippsland's beautiful countryside, or experimenting with new creative ideas.

And yes - I do believe chocolate is a perfectly acceptable form of self-care!

Future Blogs

This blog will be a space where you can find helpful information, inspiration and motivation. In this space you can expect to see posts about:

  • Mindfulness and Relaxation

  • How being Creative supports Mental Health

  • Self-Care for Busy bees

  • Insights from Nursing and Social Work

  • Ideas to Declutter your Mind and Reduce Stress

  • Ideas for Meaningful Gatherings and Connection

My hope is that you can leave here feeling a little bit calmer, encouraged and reminded that it is ok to make space for yourself to breath. Whether you join a session, read a blog post or simply pause just for a moment - you are welcome here.

Take a deep breath.

Slow down.

You deserve it.

Warmly,

Yolandi

Canvas Crew
